1. Before keeping your folded silk saree in your wardrobe, wrap it up with a cotton material and then store. This material can be a towel or even an old cotton saree.

2. If your silk saree has zari work on it, fold the saree in such a way that the zari embroidery folds inwards. This helps protect the zari’s shine.

3. Sometimes we get silk sarees as gifts which we might not wear that often. Ensure you take it out of the closet every six months and place it near sunlight for a few hours. Then refold and store it again. This helps maintain the saree’s shine and color.
